Work, relationships and intimacy: asking for practical support

You choose what to share, with whom and when.

Ask for one specific thing

Fatigue, poor sleep and sensitivity to heat can affect everyday routines. A partner or friend may help by listening, sharing tasks or adjusting plans. You do not need to explain every detail to ask for practical help.

Try a conversation in your own words

At home: “My sleep has been difficult. Could we share the morning tasks differently this week?” At work: “Could we discuss a quieter space for focused tasks?” These are optional prompts, not promises of workplace entitlements or an obligation to disclose health information.

Keep comfort and choice central

If intimacy is uncomfortable, you can pause and discuss what feels right with your partner. Persistent pain or dryness deserves a healthcare conversation. Support should respect your boundaries, not add another expectation.
