Mood, brain fog and confidence: you deserve to be heard

You do not have to prove you are struggling enough to start a conversation.

Make room for the whole picture

Mood changes and difficulties with memory or concentration can occur during the menopause transition. They do not establish the cause on their own. Sleep, stress and other health conditions also deserve attention.

Describe one real moment

Instead of finding a perfect label, describe an example: “I am losing track in meetings,” or “I feel unlike myself and it is affecting home life.” Note how often it happens and what you want help with. These are conversation prompts, not a diagnostic checklist.

Support can include someone to talk to

Ask your GP which medical or psychological support may suit you. If your mental health changes severely or suddenly, seek urgent care. In immediate danger, call 000. For crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, available 24/7.

Your next step, at your pace

Choose a care pathway or prepare one question for your next appointment. This information is free; no membership is needed.
